Can I stay overnight at my friend’s house?

We only permit students to stay over at a friend’s house if the family is fully Garda Vetted (police background check) by us.  So generally other host families are fine with prior notification from both host families.  We can not allow by law a sleepover with a family that is not Garda Vetted by us.

What happens if I have an issue with my host family?

Please reach out to us if you are having difficulties.  We can not help you solve a problem if we don’t know about it.  We will be able to guide you and give you tips on how to solve the issue.  We could also call a family meeting to discuss the issues with you and the host family to try and resolve them for both parties.

What happens if I am sick and cannot attend school?

It all begins with an idea.

Usually if you are sick, it means you might have to miss a day of school and return as normal the next day.  Your host family will contact the school to let them know you will be absent.  If the illness persists and you need more time off school, you must consult a doctor and receive a sick note to give into the school when you return.
